University of Washington Career & Internship Center Resume Writing + Master Your Resume Course

If you’re a University of Washington student, the Career & Internship Center offers an electronic review of resumes for current University of Washington Seattle undergraduate students. If you’re looking for a tuition-included resume writing service, this is a wonderful resource that’s included to UW-Seattle students.

In addition to the University of Washington’s Career & Internship Center’s resume writing offerings, you may want to expand your resume writing and editing skills and expertise to gain a competitive advantage. If you’re looking for additional resume writing support, the Master Your Resume; Recent College Grads course is only $27 and created by a Google and Microsoft Recruiter. We recommend using this resume writing course in addition to your free UW resources. Outlined below is how to best incorporate both the resume writing course, and University of Washington’s Career & Internship Center’s resume writing offerings. Please note, The Bossy Sauce, Master Your Craft, and Kristen Diane McDonald are not affiliated in any way with the University of Washington.

Why should you be interested in this resume writing course?

To put it bluntly, colleges and universities aren’t teaching the right resume writing techniques to students. Counselors, advisors, teachers, TA’s etc… they all have the best of intentions and want to set students up for success in the workforce. The truth of the matter is that most have never worked as Recruiters, and if they have, they likely have only done it for a short time, and perhaps a long time ago. Recruitment is ever evolving. Their job is to teach a plethora of concepts and to study job hunting as a researcher and not as a practitioner (Recruiter, Interviewer, Hiring Team). Often, the university resource center is full of useful videos, but they may have a few outdated tips as videos are rarely made a priority to update.

Universities and Colleges are sending students out into the workforce with the wrong types of resumes all the time, and lost time is lost money and lost confidence. $27 is a small investment to get it right, or to at least gain another perspective from an HR, Recruitment and Coaching practitioner.

Lastly, university resource centers are often a hub of information, where you’re left to sift through the information and to determine the order of information presented. Our course walks you through each lesson and guides you through each step of the process. There should be little to no research needed on your end, or sifting through information. We’ll guide you through the experience, the same way you’ve been taking courses at college, condensed down to 95 minutes and 14 lessons.

Who is your resume writing course host?

I’m Kristen Diane, a SPHR certified San Francisco Bay Area Human Resources and Recruitment Leader with just under 20 years of experience consulting on-site and working for Google, Microsoft, Activision, Hilton, Essence Global, and frog Design, along with many start-ups and small to mid-sized companies.

I’ve now turned that experience into career coaching, and this $27 resume writing course is my way to give my time to those that may otherwise not be able to afford my expertise at a time that’s so important. Your first major internships and first career-job post college graduation!
